About the Author
Walter Shields is the founder of DataDecided, a data visualization firm based on Tableau, and SQL Training Wheels, a SQL training firm. Target, the NYC Transit Authority, Ropes & Gray LLP, and Anthem are among his prior employers. Learning SQL was a difficult task for me. It seemed like I was blindly driving in a high-speed race, fumbling with the controls while everyone else seemed to be passing me by. The most irritating thing was that no one was willing to slow the race down and give me a gradual, steady, and strong understanding of SQL in a way that made it simple and enjoyable rather than rocket science.
