Book Description – On Programming with R: Write Your Own Functions and Simulations

Download Hands-On Programming with R: Write Your Own Functions and Simulations pdf- Learn to programme using the R language, and then apply your newfound knowledge to real-world data science challenges. Learn how to load data, construct and dismantle data objects, navigate R’s environment system, write your own functions, and use all of R’s programming tools with this book.

Garrett Grolemund, and RStudio Master Instructor, not only teaches you how to programme but also how to use R for more than just displaying and modelling data. You’ll learn vital programming abilities while also supporting your profession as a data scientist.

  • Participate in three hands-on data analysis projects based on casino games.
  • In your computer’s memory, you can save, retrieve, and alter data values.
  • Create simulations and programmes that outperform those written by average R users.
  • Use if else statements, for loops, and S3 classes in R programming.
  • Learn how to develop vectorized R code that is lightning fast.
  • Use R’s package system and debugging tools to your advantage.
  • As you learn R programming ideas, put them into practice.

This book is a wonderful fit for someone new to R because it has a clearer, smaller emphasis. It utilises fewer libraries, but the ones it does use are well-designed and make working with R easier. The author takes you through a variety of activities to help you learn, and he does so in a fun style with a few jokes thrown in for good measure. Dr Grolemund provides a variety of ways to comprehend and interact with the enormous and, for the inexperienced acolyte, complicated language of R through four-game programmes.

About the Author

Garrett Grolemund works at RStudio as a statistician, teacher, and R developer. Data analysis, he believes, is a largely untapped source of value for both industry and science. Garrett earned his PhD at Hadley Wickham’s group at Rice University, where he studied the beginnings of data analysis as a cognitive process and discovered how attentional and epistemological concerns influence all data analysis.

Garrett is dedicated to assisting others in avoiding the aggravation and unneeded learning that he experienced when learning data analysis. He began offering business training in R and data analysis for Revolutions Analytics even before completing his PhD.

He’s taught at Google, eBay, Acxiom, and a number of other firms, and he’s presently working on an RStudio training curriculum to make useful knowledge even more accessible.

Garrett spends his time outside of the classroom conducting clinical trials research, legal research, and financial analysis. He also creates R software; he co-wrote the lubridate R package (which provides methods for parsing, manipulating, and doing arithmetic with date-times) and the ggsubplot package (which extends the ggplot2 package).
