About The Author :


Field and Wave Electromagnetics by Cheng – David Keun Cheng  was a Chinese-born Professor of Electrical Engineering. He was known for his work in the field of Electro-magnetics. His 1983 book Field and Wave Electromagnetics has been cited in more than 2000 publications and in 2016 is in the collections of about 500 libraries around the world. Cheng obtained his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in Shanghai in 1938, graduating at the head of his class. For the next five years, he worked as a research engineer with the Central Radio Corporation in China. He then went on to Harvard University, where he received his S.M. and Sc.D. degrees in 1944 and 1946 respectively. While at Harvard, he was a Charles Storrow Scholar and a Gordon McKay Scholar.
