Book Description – Download Successful Lisp pdf
Download Successful Lisp pdf – This training is designed for programmers who work in the industry. It teaches the ANSI Common Lisp standard through a hands-on method. An in-depth look at Common Lisp programming paradigms is provided through practical examples of working code. Students learned Common Lisp from class lectures and this book, and they were able to do so successfully, as evidenced by their ability to write Lisp interpreters. The book starts with an introduction (Chapter 3 alone is worth its weight in gold) and then continues on to advanced topics like Lisp compilation and memory management. The internals of Wade Hennessey’s Common Lisp is more detailed, but this book is considerably more accessible.
If you don’t want a long exposition of a specific feature of the language, Successful Lisp is a wonderful book to read. Some of the ideas presented in a 25-page chapter in Practical Common Lisp, for example, were covered in one to two pages in Successful Lisp. Is this a problem? Not if you don’t care about the tiniest details. If you’re looking for a concise description of a feature, Successful Lisp is the book for you. However, if you are looking for specific information, you may not be able to locate it in this book (though you might in some instances).
