Book Description

JavaScript: The Definitive Guide – This book covers the JavaScript programming language as well as the JavaScript APIs used by web browsers and Node.js. It was written for readers who have some programming experience and want to learn JavaScript, as well as programmers who already know JavaScript but want to deepen their knowledge and truly master the language. My goal with this book is to give a full and definitive documentation of the JavaScript language, as well as an in-depth introduction to the most significant client-side and server-side APIs available to JavaScript programs. As a result, the book is lengthy and thorough.

JavaScript is the programming language of the web. JavaScript is used by the vast majority of websites, and all modern web browsers—on PCs, tablets, and phones—include JavaScript interpreters, making it the most widely used programming language in history. Node.js has enabled JavaScript development outside of web browsers during the last decade, and Node’s meteoric rise has resulted in JavaScript becoming the most widely used programming language among software developers. This book will assist you in mastering JavaScript, whether you are new to the language or currently use it professionally.

If you’re already familiar with other programming languages, knowing that JavaScript is a high-level, dynamic, interpreted programming language that’s well-suited to object-oriented and functional programming approaches can be useful. Variables in JavaScript are untyped. Although it has a syntax that is similar to Java, the two languages are otherwise unrelated.
