About the Author :
C++ Primer by Stanley B Lippmann – Stanley B. Lippman has returned to the Catalina Foothills to work on EEEK!, a computational model of the House Mouse’s nervous system, and An Off By One Error, a speculative novel set in the Northwestern Rain Forest. Stanley worked as a Distinguished Consultant for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, an Architect for Microsoft’s Visual C++ development group, a member of Bell Laboratories’ technical staff, two stints in Massive Multiplayer Online Gaming, and a surprisingly long stint in Feature Animation at Disney, DreamWorks, Pixar, and PDI during his professional career. Stanley will be remembered for his many years of collaboration with Dr. Stroustrup on the development of cfront, the standard C++ implementation until the ISO standard was established.
Josée Lajoie, currently at Pixar, was a member of IBM Canada’s C/C++ compiler development team and chaired the initial ANSI/ISO C++ standards committee’s core language working group.
Barbara E. Moo has nearly thirty years of expertise in the software industry. She worked closely with C++ inventor Bjarne Stroustrup and managed the C++ development team for several years throughout her fifteen years at AT&T.
About this Book :
C++ Primer, Fifth Edition, begins by introducing the C++ standard library, leveraging on its common functions and facilities to assist you in writing useful programmes without having to learn every language detail first. Many of the examples in the book have been updated to incorporate the new language capabilities and illustrate how to make the most of them. This book provides a tried-and-true tutorial for newcomers to C++, an authoritative treatment of key C++ concepts and techniques, and a helpful resource for experienced programmers, particularly those interested in learning about C++11 advancements.
This authoritative and complete introduction to C++ will help you learn the language quickly and utilise it in modern, highly effective ways. It has been fully updated and recast for the recently released C++11 standard. The authors demonstrate how to develop efficient, legible, and powerful code using both the core language and its standard library, highlighting today’s best practises.
